Chick Keepsake

First of all, sorry about the bad picture.  I took it with my cellphone.  I forgot my camera today and I was hurrying quick to catch a picture of these cuties!  I found the template on Kaboose.  They have some great ideas on here for Easter.  I may be doing a few more of their projectes between now and Sunday!

Frame a Birdie

I have a birthday this week. A big one!! Well, I think it's big, it was big enough for Mandee to throw me a surprise party this weekend! And when I say party, I mean, sit down formal dinner, slide show and the whole 9-yards. It was amazing! And I happen to be the dumbest person ever on the face of the planet. There will be pictures to come, because she and my sister-in-law's put in so much work and it was beautiful! Had I known, I would have taken my camera, but being that it was surprise, no such luck so now I am waiting on pictures!

Anyway, back to my birthday. I went home last weekend and got a few presents early. My cute sister, Sherry, made this for me! She knows I love vintage birdies and silhouettes.

She got the idea off of this post on Eighteen 25. Instead of using scrapbook paper, she used material and felt. It is darling!! So bright and springy! My brother-in-law even got involved. He sketched the birdie for me! Thanks sis!!!

Jelly Bean Jewlery

This was one of the easiest projects and so much fun. We've attempted to make jewelry out of candy before, and failed miserably with candy corn. This was so easy and the kids loved making their own candy jewelry.

Simply string a needle with heavy duty thread or dental floss. Tie a knot in the end leaving enough of a tail to tie it off at the end. And let the kids string them on. They are a big tough to get the need through. We had pretty big jelly beans. Next time I would probably go with smaller. My 5-year-old was even able to do this. Although, it was taking him forever to get them on, so I ended up helping in the end. I made my 2-year-olds while she handed me sticky sucked on jelly beans! But the 3 older kids, did fabulous and did it all by themselves. This would be a craft from about Kindergarten up. It does get a bit sticky! But that is half the fun!

Cute Easter Activities

Have you ever heard of Eighteen25? It's the coolest new blog on the block! They have so many great idea's over there. You have got to go and check them out. I love them so much, I think I am going to give them their own daily read! Seriously talnted ladies!

Aren't these darling? I printed the template for this off their blog. I gave these all of my Young Women yesterday and they loved them!! So cute! Everyone who saw them loved them! I ended up printing them out in a 5x7 size. I just printed them and the toppers were way to big. 5x7 was just right. The big ones are going to be stuck to a box of peeps and left on the lawns of those we are egging tonight.
I actually got this picture off their blog. How cute is that sign? I have mine all printed and ready to go for Family Home Evening tonight! My kids and I stuffed the eggs last night and we've got our targets picked and we're ready to go egging!

Easter Egg Blowing

I have always wanted to try this and thought my kids would enjoy it too. First of all we washed the eggs. Then I just used a pin to poke a hole in both ends of the egg. Then very carefully blew into the egg causing everything to come out the other end. I thought it would be fun to have the kids color them then give them to Grandma and Grandpa for Easter.

They had a really fun time doing it and I think we just created a new tradition! Next year I want to make an easter tree using the eggs we did this year and just add to the tree year after year.

Easter Egg Ideas

Just two quick idea's. I was going for tie-dyed Easter Eggs, but didn't quite get that look, but they still look cool with the lines around them. If you notice the very far one in the right corner, I was going for a polka dot egg. I used stickers on it, but you can hardly notice in the pictures. They do them no justice. They turned out pretty cute. If you look closely at the one on the left upper corner, you'll see the white stars I made out of stickers. Just a few fun ideas!

Mr. Bunny Foo-foo

How cute? You need:

A snowball for the body

twizzler ropes for the whiskers

skittles or m & m's for the eye's

A whopper for the nose

A big marshmallow for the tail

You connect the whole thing with frosting. Cut yourself a pair of ears out of cardstock and push into the snowball. Wala! You have a cute bunny to eat! Tyson made these today at preschool. He has the greatest teachers.

Bunny Bag Topper

Gotta love Skip to my Lou! She has darling napkin holders and egg holders you can print, also! She puts these on cute cellophane bags filled with Jelly beans. This was my quick improvised treat!

Darling Disney Easter Basket

Oh, my goodness. I've been a little behind with Easter crafts, but we spent a few day's at the Happiest Place on Earth last week! When I saw these baskets, we just had to make them! Click here for the details!

I did the folding of the basket's while the kiddo's cut the eggs. Older kid's could probably do the folding, but it seemed a little beyond my 4 year-old and 6-year-old. Heck, it was almost a little beyond me. It took me a minute to figure it out! Good luck!

This is such a great family home evening! Posting it a little late, but you could do it whenever! You've got 3 day's! We did this on Monday night and had so much fun! We went and got Mandee's house and she was nice enough to take pictures for me. How do you doorbell ditch and stop to take a picture?

The Cow That Laid an Egg ~ A book review

This is such a DARLING story! It had me laughing! The illustrations are so funny and perfect for the story.

In this book you will meet Marjorie, a cow, who's just a tab big insecure. She does nothing extraordinary until the morning she lays an egg with black spots! The chickens are just darling and I love the sense of concern and family you get from this book. CUTE to read at Easter time, but really appropriate anytime you need a good laugh!

When I saw this in my Kraft Foods magazine I got so excited! My dad use to make this for me every Easter and I have been telling my kids about it off and on. So when I saw it, my daughter made a quick call to Grandpa asking if he could make it for her this year. We'll see.....but it brought back so many memories. For directions on how to make it go here.
