Holiday Idea

I am sooo excited to share this idea with you. As I was coming up with ideas for Super Saturday, I looked over and saw a pile of leftover tiles, and my modge podge (which I love) and just slapped a photo onto the tile . These were a big hit and they were easy and affordable (a whole 1.30).
I just took a 6x6 tile and put a 4x6 photo on it adhering it with modge podge. This is what Brandy and I are doing for the grandparents (hope they don't peek) for Christmas. Some will stand with easels and others we will have hung with a ribbon.
Then I decided to take it a step farther: (second photo)

My mom has antique furniture from the 1800s and before so she doesn't like full glasses to sit directly on her furniture. She has coasters all over so I thought I would make her a set of coasters with her grandchildren on them. I put four coats of modgepodge and finished it with a gloss to give it more protection. I will also put felt rounds on the corners to protect the furniture from scratches. Great idea and I hope they will like it.

  2. Love them!!! When you do the ribbon do you drill holes of adhere them to the back with something? I see these being made in our home soon :)

  3. The ribbon will actually be an illusion affect. You put one of those 3M brand sticky hangy things (aren't I good at using words?) on the back of the tile and use a glue gun to adhere the ribbon to the back and the tile will actually be hanging on a nail by the hook and the ribbon will be put on the wall by another nail. Does that make sense at all???? I hope it does.

  5. What a wonderful idea! I have never used modge podge before. Do you put it over the photo? Or does that make it messed up? Thanks!

  6. You modge podge over the photo's. modge podge is a clear adhesive. It protects your pictures. You would ususally do several coats all over the tile. Super easy and modge podge is so fun and addicting.
