Flip Flop Birthday Cake

This is the cake I made for the birthday party. I am pretty tickled with the finished product. It was pretty simple and I am not a cake decorator. I did use a generic cake mix the first try and it fell apart to crumbs so I went and bought a Betty Crocker cake mix and it turned out marvelous.

I got the instructions here at the Betty Crocker website. It even has a template for you to print out to get the right shape for the flip flops. My husband and I worked together on it and had a great time. BayLee helped me put the candies on and I wish I could have found other colors of fruit by the foot but this just had to work.

BayLee was happy and that is what matters. HA watch out Martha!!!!
